Campground Overview
Luzerne Campground is one of the lesser known campgrounds located just 9 miles southwest of Lake George. It features 172 campsites partially surrounding Fourth Lake, which is approximately 51 acres, with a maximum depth of 41 feet. No motor boats are allowed on the lake, creating a peaceful and quiet atmosphere. Luzerne has a special camping area for equestrians, with horse barns, separate corrals with water, and picnic tables, located in a grove of pines. There are about five miles of marked trails on state land connected to about 60 miles of private trails. Luzerne offers well wooded sites with some in fairly dense forest and perhaps more private sites than most other DEC campgrounds in and around the Adirondacks.
