Cancellation Alerts Help
The Cancellation Alert Feature provides you will easy access to current cancellations of campsites at high occupancy state parks in New York (OPRHP and DEC). The focus at this time is on the period between May 16 and Columbus Day New updates throughout the day between 5am and 12am 7 days a week. Please note cancellations can get rebooked at any time! Priority is placed on watersites, water view, beach sites, electric sites and full hookup sites. As well campers may post their own cancellations using the New Cancellation/Offer tab.
Note! The Cancellation Alerts page should be considered a 'First Alert' system. It provides a somewhat near real time access to cancellations as they happen. Remember however that a cancellation could be rebooked at any time as there are likely others like yourself interested in the same site, especially watersites and sites with hookups. If you click on a 'Book Cancellation' you are transferred to the Reserve America reservation website. You might find some or all of the dates are gone when you actually try to rebook the site. In this case someone else simply beat you to the site. You might want to recheck a bit later just in case that person backed out and didn't complete the rebooking. The monitoring does not continually go back to see if a site was rebooked or partially rebooked. Instead it's focus is on finding new cancellations. As such cancellations are only posted for 24 hours and then no longer appear.
For the most recent cancellations posting today use the All Cancellations tab.
If you are looking for cancellations for upcoming dates at one or more campground then consider using the Setup Filter tab to setup up to 3 filters (5 filters for BaseCamp Pro) to help you monitor cancellations for specific dates/campgrounds.
Be sure to join our NY State Campsite Cancellation Facebook Group to get notifications of new cancellations as well as keep up to date on all the improvements and plans for the website, or to ask questions about reservations and cancellations.
In the future you will be able to post cancellation requests. ie sites you are looking for at your favorite campgrounds for specific dates.

More Than 14 Day Cancellations
This cancellation includes additional days of availability before and/or after a reservation that was cancelled and thus shows all additional sequential days now available. It does not mean someone was able to cancel so many days or that you can rebook all of those dates. Simply select up to 14 days you are interested in from the new availability.

1. Overview
BaseCamp is the core subscription service of the CampADK.com / New York State Campsite Photos website. It provides tools and resources to explore New York State campgrounds and make more informed camping decisions. While BaseCamp covers all types of campsites, it places slightly more emphasis on waterside options, with added photo coverage and categorization. BaseCamp enhances trip planning through rich visuals and detailed site information.
2. Features Included
- Over 200,000 high-resolution campsite photos from most DEC and OPRHP campgrounds - Detailed campsite information - Watersite breakdowns clarify whether a site is waterfront, waterview, or access-only - Photo Archives – view campsite photos from previous shoots - Favorite tracking - mark favorite campgrounds and individual campsites - Add private or public notes to any campsite - No ads - clean, distraction-free browsing3. Account Use and Restrictions

BaseCamp access is intended for personal, non-commercial use only. Sharing your login or redistributing any content from the website — including photos, text, or screenshots — through email, social media, or printed materials is strictly prohibited without written permission from Dave McGrath.
4. Intellectual Property
Ownership
All original content - including photos, graphics, notes, and layout - is owned by Dave McGrath and protected by intellectual property laws.
Some data (such as site numbers, sizes, and locations) comes from publicly available New York State sources and is provided for reference.
License
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and view original content for personal use only.
5. Subscriptions
BaseCamp is a paid service. An active subscription is required to access the features above.
Subscriptions are billed annually and do not renew automatically. Users must manually renew.
All payments are handled via PayPal. BaseCamp does not collect or store any personal payment information.
6. Service Availability
We aim for consistent access, but occasional outages may occur due to updates or technical issues. Continuous uptime is not guaranteed.
7. Termination
Account Termination
Dave McGrath may terminate accounts without notice for violating these terms.
Effect of Termination
Access to premium content is revoked immediately upon termination.
8. Refund Policy
BaseCamp subscriptions are non-refundable. We recommend reviewing all features before subscribing to ensure the service meets your needs. That said, we understand mistakes happen. If you accidentally subscribed or did not intend to complete your purchase, please contact us within a reasonable timeframe. Refund requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
9. Updates to Terms
Amendments
We may update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect when posted.
Notification
We will notify users of major changes via email or a notice on the site.

The BaseCamp Pro Add-On includes access to:

2. About the Data
Cancellation info comes from third-party sources and user contributions. It’s provided as-is and may not always be complete or accurate. You are responsible for how you use it.
3. Pro Add-On Availability & Risk
The BaseCamp Pro Add-On relies on external systems for cancellation data. Access to these systems may change or be interrupted without notice. Continued access to BaseCamp Pro features is not guaranteed. By subscribing, you accept this risk and agree that BaseCamp is not liable for missed alerts or booking opportunities.
4. No Refunds
Because the BaseCamp Pro Add-On is offered for a such a modest fee, and relies on access to third-party data, the Pro fee is non-refundable. No refunds will be issued, even if one or more Pro features become unavailable.
5. Fair Use Limits
To ensure equal access for all members, reasonable daily limits apply to how many cancellation results you can view.
6. E-Alert Volume
To keep BaseCamp affordable, E-Alert delivery is subject to quota limits. BaseCamp reserves the right to adjust these limits at any time to manage operating costs, ensure fair usage, and maintain system performance. Additional capacity may be available but will be subject to an added fee.
